Road to State - Neenah earned the 3 seed in the Oshkosh North sectional played on the UW-O campus, despite owning just a 13-9 overall record. Yet the Rockets got hot when they needed to, beating West Bend East 48-23 and Wisconsin Rapids 49-37 to qualify for sectionals. Neenah knocked off 2-seed Beaver Dam 55-43 before surviving Sheboygan South 48-42 in the sectional final.
Notes - Neenah finished in a three-way tie with Appleton West and Oshkosh North for third in the Fox Valley Association with an 11-7 league mark... The Rockets have just two players averaging double figures-- senior guard Patrick Follen leads the team with 12.6 points while fellow senior combo-guard Josh Hopfensperger adds an even 12 per game... Neenah averages 51.9 points per game while giving up exactly 48, ranking the Rockets 64th and 24th respectively in Division 1... Two of Neenah's losses came to fellow State quarterfinalist Appleton East.
The Number - 25 - This year marks the 25th State tournment appearance for the Rockets, who last earned a berth in 2000. Yet despite its prevelance on the State stage, Neenah has won just two titles-- its first in 1975 and most recently in 1978.
